Hi Shirely. Lovely photographs on the blog. If I showed the view I have from my office it would probably scare a few people away from living in the area!!

Hello Shirley - I have never posted a comment on 'blog' sites before, so this may not work! My husband Paul and I live in Western Australia, and plan to visit the UK next year, after our first (and only!) trip in 1980. I would love to identify the places that Lillian Beckwith wrote about in her delightful book series, with 'Bruach' as the fictitious village in which she resided. I have read that 'Elgol', 'Soay' and 'Lower Breakish' are all areas in which she (may have) lived, and am wondering if you might know anything further? Would you mind emailing your answer directly to me, as well as placing on your 'blog' (if that is what happens - I am an absolute novice at this!) I can't wait to visit your wonderful land and see 'black' houses, and clay peats, and all the wonderful local character. Hoping you can help, and looking forward to your reply!
